Doctor Visit
We saw Lily's Neurosurgeon this morning. They were able to get an ultrasound as well. This was the final one. She was such a good girl! She ate a bottle while they did the scan. We went upstairs to see Dr. D. The office always swoons over her and she is always eager to smile and chat with them. LOL ;) The Dr. took us back measured her head and this time it was at 44. On June 1st it was at 42.7. He was "ok" with this. (She is still very sunken) He said that she has been bouncing between the 75th percentile and the 90th percentile. She is currently just under the 90th percentile. Then he proceeded to read the radiologists report on her ultrasound. He said that it was worded odd. Today's ultrasound was the last one. They noted that it was difficult to read due to the fact that her fontanel is almost closed. The Radiologist stated that the cyst was practically nonexistent, (same as the previous months) her ventricles appeared smaller and there appeared to be LESS brain matter. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... Dr. D stated that just isn't possible. He said that the only things in there are ventricles and brain matter. The only logical conclusion is that it was so difficult to read that he meant that he was unable to see it. Like I said the Dr. was not overly concerned. He wants to see her back again in 4 weeks and this time we are going to get a CT. I'm not sure how often we will have to see him after next month. I know that he is not going to want to get a CT every month. He asked what she is doing now... I gave him the run down, rolling over, scooting, raising entire upper body, trying to get legs under her, chatting, smiling, cooing, agooing... no momma or dada.. yet. He was pleased. So..... 4 more weeks. Tomorrow we go for her 6 month check up. I will post again with her weight, length and etc.

The excitement!
Its been "a week." LOL... Lily has been teething and fighting sleep at all costs! Poor baby has been so restless. I also think that she may be trying to drop one of her afternoon naps. I am lucky that she isn't really cranky. In my previous posted I stated that I was unsure when she was going to follow up with her Neurosurgeon. His office called me on Tuesday letting me know that Dr. "D" is going out of town and he wanted to know if I could bring Lil in for a quick measure and he wanted to feel her head. (I really like her Dr.) I said sure, and let them know that she is still soft and sunken. Then his scheduler said, so she still has a soft spot? I said yes, about the size of a thumbprint. So, we said our goodbyes and got off the phone. A few minutes later my phone rang again, and it was the Scheduler asking if I minded if we changed the plans... He wanted to try and get one more ultrasound. (being that she still has a soft spot) We are scheduled to go in on Monday morning. I am so grateful for such a wonderful surgeon. I have said it before but want to state it again, God has been SO good to us! I am so grateful that he choose Lily's surgeon. Have I mentioned that her Dr. has a daughter named Lily? I mean really... what are the odds????
This week I have been working with Lil and her sippy cup. She gets SO excited when she sees the cup... you can see her literally shaking with excitement and her eyes light up. I LOVE to see her like this! :D Yesterday, I was getting her peas ready and had placed her cup on her highchair tray with milk. (breastmilk of course) She picked up the cup and got it to her mouth and drank! (the cup is almost bigger than she is..lol) I have got to try and get a video if this. She amazes me everyday! :D :D
Well... I'm off to get some laundry hung out on our "solar powered clothes dryer." :D
God Bless!

6 months!! 6 months old today!
Whew.. I have been trying to get by here all day. Ms. Lil is totally teething and SUPER restless. She was awake from 2pm until 8pm when I was finally able to put her down to bed. She is really restless, kicking and hitting, drooling and chewing on EVERYTHING. Poor pea-pod. I am so grateful that a few months ago Kristen from The Beautiful Cayman Cindy blogged about teething tablets. We have really used them for the past couple of days. Thank you Kristen!! :D She has been flipping her binkie around and chewing on the hard plastic so yesterday, I bought her a Raz-Berry teether. She seems to like it.
She has been flipping onto her tummy as soon as I put her in the crib. We check on her in the middle of the night and she is on her tummy. We flip her over to return in the morning to find her on her tummy. LOL She is lifting her entire upper body now and trying to get her legs under her. She wants to be mobile SO badly! I also got a video of her scooting while on her back, backwards. She would put her head back and then push off. Too cute! I will post it sometime this week. I need to call and schedule her 6 month check up this week. Something I am not really looking forward too. Vaccinations and teething at the same time? Boo! Poor thing!
Well, here are a few recent photos. I need to get going. Tomorrow is my oldest daughters 16th birthday! ;D Yes, 6 months and 16!
God Bless!

Lil-Lil Likes the water...........
OMGosh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to watch Lily concentrate on things. She studies everything! Of course she then wants to try it. We find her mimicking some of our actions. Chewing, drinking, and trying to bring her hands together to clap! Oh Thank you God for such a wonderful gift!
Here is a video that I captured with my cell phone so the resolution isn't that great but it was so cute and I couldn't resist sharing it. :D

Wow.... time has been flying!
I can not get over the lack of time that I have had lately. Or is it that I am managing my time poorly? That is possible! Anyway... Lily is doing great. I am not sure when she will have her next follow up with her Neurosurgeon. I spoke with his office yesterday and he wants to review all of her scans (MRI's, CT's, and the numerous ultrasounds) with the Radiologist and decide where we go from here. This is good b/c there has been no change in her scans since about March. (as far as the cyst is concerned) Her vents are still enlarged but they may take a long time to shrink or may stay this way. Only time will tell. The good thing is... he is not urgently making a decision. This means that he is pretty comfortable with where she is right now. :D She has been hitting her milestones and we are so pleased! Here are a couple of recent pictures of her. The one is how she settles herself to sleep... She is holding onto a elephants ears. I'm not sure what will happen when it comes time to remove the bumper pads! I have tried placing her in different areas in her crib and we usually find her like this after a little while. hehehe....
On a more serious note.... a friend of mine from work has told me about one of the little boys in her son's cub scout group. He recently underwent brain surgery. Him (Will) and his family are in dire need of prayer. Please keep them in your prayers. Here is the link to his CaringBridge page. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/WillWilliams
I will also place a permanent link on my side panel.
Thanks! God Bless

Sweet Dreams...
What a "crazy" busy week this has been. :D Monday I took Lil to see her Neurosurgeon. She had what was her last ultrasound. I was surprised that they were able to get anything. By the time that we made it upstairs to go over the results with her Dr. the system was down and he was not able to compare her scans. Good thing that I have seen enough of them to know that it looked about the same to me. So, I spoke with his office today and it was confirmed.... about the same as last time. I'll take that! That means that the cyst is still gone but her ventricles are still twice the size of a "normal" infant her age. They may always be this way. Her head circum was 42.7 and a month ago it was 42. He said that this is acceptable growth. They weighed her and she is now up to about 14 pounds.
He asked me if she was rolling over, I said that she has just started to actively roll over. He then asked "front to back?" "back to front?" I told him both. She will roll over and then roll right back. He said that this was a HUGE 4-6 milestone and it is excellent that she is hitting it. I then said that she is a pretty amazing girl and he agreed. :D We are SO thankful! God has really opened my eyes to see past the surface of many things. I am grateful that he has trusted our family to care for her!
I am excited that I have a couple of new projects to work on.. now if I could organize my thoughts and time to get it all done. :D
I'd like to thank everyone that prayed for my Grandma.... She should be out of the hospital in a day or so and is doing SO much better!
