Wow... June almost here.

I can hardly believe it! Time is going by so fast! Before we know it Lily will be turning one and Christmas will be upon us! I think that it is true, time goes faster as we get older.

So, Lily woke me up at 5am this morning. She has been sleeping to about 7 or 7:30. I went to the video monitor to peek at her before I went in there and she was facing the opposite direction than how we had laid her down. hmmmmmmm........ She was not crying just restless. I continued to watch and she rolled over and wiggled a whole bunch. hehe.... Then she was unable to get back over and was starting to get angry. I went in and got her settled and she went back to sleep. She displays more and more personality everyday! :D

I have been really praying about job opportunities from home. I used to design websites and I have gotten the opportunity to do a couple new sites. I am excited about it. I had forgotten just how much I love to write code and create graphics. :D I continue to pray about it and I know that God already knows what he has planned for my life. I am so grateful to be able to stay home right now. I am grateful for my wonderful and supportive husband.

Tomorrow Lily sees her Neurosurgeon. They are going to try and do a ultrasound but, I doubt that they will be able to get much. Her fontanel has really closed. I'd say that it is the size of the tip of my finger. He said to expect this and we'd discuss where we go from here. I'll post tomorrow after our visit.

Please keep my Grandma in your prayers... she is in the hospital with congestive heart failure... yesterday was her 84th Birthday.

There should really be laws against....

being this CUTE!

:D :D I took this photo the other day when Lily and her older sister got in "Lily's" pool.

I am pleased to say that we pretty much have a routine down. Lily has been waking about 7 to 7:30am each morning and is in bed for the night by 8pm. (except daddy still wakes her for a midnight feed. I think that he does this more for him than her. LOL) I know that she likes to stay awake for about an hour and a half. (including the time of her feed) So that leaves me with about 45 minutes of "wake time." Now, let say again that I am very pleased that we have a routine and I am in no way complaining BUT, if we go off track for any reason... (I need to go to the store, or go to the Dr., meet friends for coffee... etc) she refuses to eat while out in public or really nap. I have tried nursing her in the car, feeding her a bottle she just will not take it. She won't even really nap in her car seat while driving either. When we get home she is thrown off for the entire rest of the day. She is over tired so she is irritable and in turn doesn't eat well. So..... Do I become a hermit and stay in the house to keep her on track or venture out more and hope that she is just super curious of her surrondings and the "newness" will fade. Has any of you mom's experienced this? My oldest daughter is close to 16 and I can't remember what she was like. I am welcome to suggestions. :)

That's how we Roll!

Lily is becoming a "pro" at rolling over. She almost immediately rolls to her tummy as soon as we lay her down. :D I LOVE it! I had better get on my hands and knees and crawl around and baby-proof this house because it won't be long..... LOL I have some really adorable photos too that I have taken. (with the real camera) I'll get them up here soon. :)

In honor of being 5 months today.......

AND it being a beautiful day outside.... I filled Lily's baby pool this morning and let it sit in the sun to get it warm. Just before she was due to awake from her morning nap, I pulled it around to a shaded area on our deck.

SHE LOVED IT!!!! I really need to dig out our tri-pod and and get some "good" photos instead of using my cell phone. That is on my "to-do" list. :D

So, while she was taking her afternoon nap... I made her some babyfood... Peas and Green beans. She has not had either yet. I have been introducing foods very slowly.

We started the peas today.....

First Bite...

hmmmmmmm.... Not bad! :D

5 months this coming Friday!

I can't hardly believe it!
Six months ago we received her diagnosis and were told they had no idea what we could expect. God has really answered EVERY one of our prayers for her. We have been blessed beyond any expectation that we could have had. Lily has really enriched our lives and I am so grateful for and to her! I AM a better person because of her. I can also say the same thing in regards to my oldest daughter who will be 16 next month.

I hate to admit this, but I have struggled with being a stay at home mom. I never wanted anyone else to care for Lily but also wanted to be able to stay at my job. I have been praying that God will help me to accept and embrace this change and to create opportunities for us meet our financial obligations.

In this last week I have been at peace with staying home and accepting that my full-time job is caring for my family; To be the very best mom and wife that I am capable of being. I have even found joy in tedious household "chores."

This week we started Lily on carrots. I made them myself. :D I intend on making all of her babyfood. We are still doing cloth diapers. I dont mind them at all. I have enough to wash them every other day. Lily is chatting, squealing, and rolling over more and more. All in all things are going well and I am enjoying every moment with her.

Neurosurgeon Visit........

Lily's ultrasound went well. He wasn't able to see much change from the last scan. Her ventricles are still large but they may remain that way. Her fontanel is getting smaller so he said that we may not be able to see what is going on like this much longer. We will have to discuss that on her next visit a month from now. He doesn't want to do regular CT's sooo, I'm not sure what the option will be. Her head circumference this time was 42 and he said that was perfect. :D All in all... we had a very good appointment!
